Wildlife in need center internship. The Wildlife Science Center Internship Program is designed to provide technical or college level student interns with practical learning experiences and provide the opportunity for interns to consider entering or furthering careers in biology wildlife management and education. Each year the Wildlife Center admits about 3000 patients sick injured and orphaned wild animals in need of medical care. Externships range from 4-12 weeks however a 12-week externship culminating in 600 hours is preferred. Wildlife Care Assistants help with feeding cleaning and caring for animals.
The Center for Wildlife offers three main internships. Vet Tech Internship students will also assist in the intake of injured and orphaned wildlife provide routine daily cleaning and feeding for the animals currently residing in the clinic collect blood and other laboratory samples conduct laboratory analysis in our in-house laboratory and assist in necropsies to determine the cause of death.
